The fragrance is the latest addition to the Montblanc Explorer line, launched in 2019 as a tribute to Montblanc’s passion for discovery and heritage as a trusted travel companion of explorers for almost 115 years. A stimulating new fragrance journey across the waters
As an ode to the blue of nature, Montblanc Explorer Ultra Blue celebrates the home’s bond with nature. The characteristic citrus, wood and sea notes of the fragrance reflect this. Three globetrotters and exceptionally talented noses – Jordi Fernandez, Olivier Pescheux and Antoine Maisondieu from Givaudan – have composed this special fragrance together: for the adventurer who wants to discover the blue palette of nature: sky, lakes and mountains.
The top note of Montblanc Explorer Ultra Blue combines a bright and tangy fusion of Italian bergamot and citrus fruits of the finest quality with a hint of pink peppercorns, to a fresh, spicy note with woody facets and nuances of Elemi. The sea chord is the beating heart of the fragrance. The blue, aquatic depth created by the merging of citrus fruits with maritime and airy notes is reminiscent of the freshness of alpine landscapes with the gentle touch of a sea breeze. The fresh, iodized, watery, salty and airy notes contrast with gray amber notes. A final stop on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia provides the base notes that determine the structure of Montblanc Explorer Ultra Blue. Unique patchouli of the finest quality was created exclusively for Montblanc. Freed from the usual dark earthy facets that it naturally brings with it, this patchouli is masterfully combined with fine woods, which gives it an earthy and rich base with leathery facets.
A fragrance bottled with all the artistry and fine craftsmanship of Montblanc
The design of the bottle is based on the company’s long tradition of fine European craftsmanship, with stops in Germany, Italy and France. The bottle is assembled by hand in the pelleteria of the house in Florence. The leather-like protective cover in ultra blue is printed with the elegant saffiano motif, which has adorned Motblanc leather creations since 1926, and is decorated with the Montblanc emblem, which is made in the Hamburg-based Montblanc factory. The closure of the bottle made of polished metal is provided with the elegant engraving “Montblanc Explorer”. With the greatest care and attention to detail in design and quality, the heavy glass bottom of the flacon shows the iconic Montblanc star, the six Represents glacier slopes that form the snowy peak of the mountain. Montblanc Explorer Ultra Blue was designed as a fragrance for adventurers – in a 30 ml travel bottle, the fragrance is presented as a practical size that enables explorers to take their perfume with them wherever they go.
